KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Support the Nursing Manager to achieve quality patient care in line with the hospital operational goals and objectives Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety in line with specified clinical outcomes Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks Ensure optimal utilisation of a competent and engaged workforce and other resources in line with the relevant company guidelines Lead and manage direct reports Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree/diploma in nursing, Appropriate leadership/management qualification REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in a supervisory position, e.g. Unit Manager DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2 – 3 years experience in a supervisory position within a specialised unit REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Infection prevention and control Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies Productivity management in nursing Clinical risk management Nursing functional knowledge Knowledge and experience in auditing and accreditation processes Human resource processes including employee relations All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
