This is an opportunity to work on complex bulk materials handling and ash infrastructure within a large-scale industrial environment. Our client is seeking a highly experienced BMH Specialist Engineer to provide technical oversight, engineering coordination, construction monitoring, quality assurance, contractor interface management, and site engineering support across ash handling and bulk materials handling systems. The successful candidate will be deployed on-site for a twelve-month contract and will be responsible for ensuring engineering compliance, construction quality, and effective execution of critical project activities. This role requires extensive practical experience within power generation, ash handling systems, slurry transport infrastructure, bulk material movement systems, and heavy industrial construction environments. You will work closely with project stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and technically sound delivery of project objectives. What You'll Do Provide technical oversight and engineering support for Bulk Materials Handling systems and ash handling infrastructure Coordinate engineering activities across multiple contractors and project stakeholders Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards Support contractor management and technical issue resolution on site Review construction methodologies, engineering deliverables, and quality documentation Conduct site inspections and provide construction supervision support Monitor project progress and identify technical risks and mitigation measures Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements Support commissioning readiness and project handover activities where required What You Bring Bachelor's Degree or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline 10–15 years of relevant engineering experience At least 5 years of experience in power station ash handling systems, bulk materials handling systems, or ash dam infrastructure projects Strong construction supervision and site-based engineering experience within heavy industrial or utility projects Proven ability to manage contractor interfaces and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities Strong understanding of construction quality assurance and engineering compliance requirements Excellent technical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills Advantageous Experience Eskom Power Stations Ash Dam Construction Projects Coal-Fired Power Plants Bulk Materials Handling Systems Ash Slurry Pipelines and Pumping Systems What Success Looks Like Engineering activities are effectively coordinated and delivered according to project requirements Construction quality meets all technical and regulatory standards Contractor performance is proactively managed and supported Technical risks are identified early and resolved efficiently Project milestones are achieved safely and within agreed timelines Ash handling and bulk materials handling infrastructure is delivered to specification and operational requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
