You have built strong mechanical engineering experience. Now you can apply it in one of the most advanced and future-focused sectors in engineering: data centres. This role gives you technical ownership in international projects where cooling, HVAC and power continuity are central to performance. Company Information Our client is a leading international engineering company working on large-scale data centre projects across Europe and APAC. Their teams design and deliver integrated solutions for high-tech, mission-critical facilities where uptime, scalability and efficiency are essential. You will join an international engineering environment where mechanical and electrical teams work together on complex solutions for high-availability facilities. Vacancy Information As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design scope for large-scale data centre projects, from concept development to detailed engineering and delivery. You will translate client requirements into practical, energy-efficient technical solutions and make sure the mechanical design fits the full project scope. This is a visible, client-facing technical role with real influence on design decisions. You will be responsible for coordinating the engineers working with you, aligning across disciplines and bringing the strongest technical solution forward. What do you need Strong experience as a Mechanical Engineer within complex building systems, with the ability to apply your knowledge to data centre environments. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related technical field. Experience with data centres or other mission-critical facilities is a strong advantage, but not the only relevant background. Experience designing and engineering mechanical building systems, including HVAC, cooling solutions and related installations. Strong working knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems and high-availability mechanical design. The ability to develop concepts and translate client requirements into scalable, energy-efficient technical solutions. Experience with advanced cooling technologies, such as evaporative cooling, liquid cooling or chiller systems. Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated designs. The ability to act as a technical point of contact for clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Confidence coordinating the engineers working with you and keeping the mechanical scope moving in the right direction. Experience contributing to tenders, cost estimates and quality assurance during design and execution phases. Strong communication skills in English. Dutch is welcome, but not required. Willingness to relocate to the Netherlands. If you do not meet every requirement but have strong mechanical engineering experience, we still encourage you to apply. The right technical background, motivation and willingness to grow can also make you a strong candidate. Relocation This position is based in the Netherlands and requires relocation. For the right candidate, it is an opportunity to take your mechanical engineering experience into one of Europe’s most active data centre markets. As part of your contract, FairPlay Engineering provides a Premium Relocation Package. This includes visa sponsorship, guidance before your move and support from a dedicated relocation consultant throughout the process. You can find more information on the Relocating with us page on our website.
