Inventory Management: Ensuring accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and reconciliation. Staff Management: Hiring, training, and supervising warehouse staff, including delegating tasks and creating schedules. Logistics Coordination: Overseeing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, coordinating with suppliers and transportation companies. Safety and Compliance: Implementing and enforcing safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining a safe work environment. Equipment Management: Inspecting and maintaining warehouse equipment, arranging for repairs and replacements. Budgeting and Planning: Assisting in developing and managing the warehouse budget, planning expenses, and contributing to financial goals. Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity, and developing action plans to improve performance. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, clients, and other stakeholders. Ability to analyse situations, identify problems, and the skill to develop effective solutions for solving these problems. Technical Skills, which includes familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software. Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations, as well as warehousing and shipping practices.
