To fabricate, strip and report on mechanical equipment for mining operations Fits fabricated metal parts into products and assembles metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment. Checks fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments. Diagnoses faults and performs operational maintenance of machines and overhauls and repairs mechanical parts and fluid power equipment. Provide technical support and training to production personnel where required Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks provide technical assistance as required Work with other personnel to maintain DFI equipment to agreed schedules, procedures and standard Carry out work and inspections of work in accordance with QA requirements and the relevant codes and industry standards Assist he foreman with job timing, work scheduling, work instructions ad job plan recommendations in relation to work practices Improve quality and increase productivity and reduce costs Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical transmissions, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and components as required Diagnosis and fault finding of malfunctioning mechanical systems, equipment and components Routine maintenance, lubricant and repair of schedules of parts and equipment/ machinery Effective repair using techniques including MIC/MMA/TIG welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals, fabrication skills, manual machining skills, milling and bench fitting and assembly Internal and External relationships: This role interacts internally with: management, colleagues, assistants This role interacts externally with: None, on appointment client interaction Key Performance Measure: Adhere to precision engineering standards with duties such as: Parts stripping Condition monitoring reports Fabrication Refurbishing the equipment All on mining equipment and undercarriage Knowledge: All required for a fitter position, how to operate the tools an equipment needed to complete the job.
