About Our Client The client operates in the heavy-duty trucking industry. They manage a fleet consisting of trucks, trailers, and forklifts. The Role: Tyre Foreman (Heavy Duty Trucking) The Tyre Foreman exists to oversee all tyre-related operations within the workshop, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and stock management. This role contributes to the business by ensuring optimal tyre performance and maintaining the reliability and safety of the fleet. The main focus areas involve technical tyre maintenance, team supervision, inventory control, and compliance with safety standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise tyre fitting and maintenance for heavy-duty vehicles with a minimum of 35 years of experience. Conduct and supervise tyre inspections, repairs, re-treading, rotations, balancing, and replacements. Lead, mentor, and supervise the tyre team and technicians while allocating daily tasks. Manage tyre inventory, including new tyres, casings, repaired tyres, and usage history records. Conduct tyre checks on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet vehicles. Enforce health and safety standards, OHS, RTMS, and legal requirements within the workshop. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly tyre usage and performance reports. Attend to after-hours emergency breakdowns when the standby team cannot resolve the issue. About You Minimum 35 years of experience in tyre fitting/maintenance for heavy-duty vehicles. Grade 12 / Matric qualification. Valid Drivers License: B or EB. Strong knowledge of tyre brands, specifications, application, and wear pattern analysis. Basic computer literacy in Excel and tyre management systems. Physically fit and capable of manual handling of heavy tyres. Previous supervisory experience (preferred). Certificate or relevant training in tyre maintenance (preferred).
