Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant – Dis-Chem Vryheid 2026 Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is looking for a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for its Princess Mkabayi store in Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a permanent, full‑time role focused on providing high‑quality pharmaceutical care and supporting the dispensary team. Key Responsibilities Assist with the sale and dispensing of Schedule 1–5 medicines. Prepare, compound and re‑package non‑sterile medicines following SOPs. Assist with ordering medicines up to Schedule 6 under authorised instructions. Accurately interpret prescriptions, capture script details and verify patient information. Provide patients with clear instructions on medication use and explain medical aid costs. Maintain accurate stock records, report low stock, and participate in bi‑annual stock takes. Process medical aid claims, correct rejected scripts and ensure authorisation for chronic, HIV/AIDS and oncology medications. Maintain customer profiles, merge duplicate records and follow up on script tracking. Uphold health and safety standards, including controlled room temperature and security of stock. Requirements Grade 12 / Matric. Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). South African citizenship. Valid driver’s licence. Clear credit and criminal records. Ability to work retail hours and stand for long periods. Strong communication skills in English and at least one additional language. Good numeracy, attention to detail and team‑player attitude. Additional (advantageous) skills include knowledge of retail/FMCG operations, experience with Unisolv, SAP, e‑scripting, oncology, and a third language.
