Lead Mechanical Design Engineer Reference: Pta -EP-2 Lead Mechanical Design Engineer required with at least 10 years experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a lead/managerial role. Ability to manage Mechanical design engineers and act as a mentor is essential. Candidates must hold a B Eng. Degree or B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 3D CAD experience. This role primarily serves a USA client base, and candidates must be willing to travel to the USA for variable periods. The position involves international design of equipment in the automotive field. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities: Team Leadership Interface with customers to help establish and prioritize the utilization of design resources Delegate work to assigned engineering personnel Direct and guide design engineers on technical related issues Manage project/task timelines to ensure that agreed milestones are reached and communicate and plan for non-compliance in a timely manner Take responsibility for the technical soundness and compliance of designs to the customer’s and general engineering practices and standards Organize and lead “internal” design reviews to ensure that designs reviewed with the customer are properly checked for soundness and compliance Lead design reviews with the customer and suppliers Lead CAD Design Willing to travel overseas for variable periods Minimum Qualification and Experience B Eng.
