We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Cape Town and support the successful industrialization of new projects within the automotive environment. As Project Engineer, you will take ownership of the end-to-end project industrialization, from process design through to serial production, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations are met. Responsibilities Manage Project Life Cycle (PLM) and End-of-Project (EOP) activities Ensure customer timelines are aligned and successfully delivered Lead layout planning & process flow development for new projects Coordinate and support DFMEA / PFMEA and ensure FMEA readiness Drive ( ) activities and SOP preparation Manage project handover to operations (SOP + 6 months) Handle Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) including trials and implementation Support machinery specification, acceptance and optimization Ensure Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g. VSM, Line Balancing, Poka-Yoke) are applied Manage Capex budgets & project cost tracking Ensure audit readiness & compliance with customer requirements Provide training and technical support to operators until SOP Qualifications Degree or Higher Diploma in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) 3–5 years experience in a similar role within the automotive industry Proven experience in industrialization of new projects (from design to serial production) Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools Knowledge of customer-specific requirements (e.g. VW, Toyota) is an advantage Good skills in MS Office and MS Project Strong analytical thinking and hands‑on mindset If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly via LinkedIn.
