Payroll Officer – Retail Payroll Team This position will be based at our head office in Durban. Qualifications Grade 12/Matric and payroll qualification or relevant degree or diploma. Minimum 5 years' experience as a payroll officer. Experience in the retail sector would be advantageous. Working knowledge of Sage 300. ESS systems knowledge advantageous. Financial report writing advantageous. Proficient in Word and Excel. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update payroll records, prepare payroll reports, and reconciliations for Company 001payrolls (relating to earnings, deductions, company contributions and benefits, and leave). Provide exceptional people services and support—professional relationships with employees. Assist with ESS workflow for new allocations. Manage company loans and advances to employees, including the management of loans through Atlas Finance. Review new employee starter packs to ensure all relevant documentation has been obtained. Attend to ad-hoc requests from HR Manager. Prepare Department of Labour Workmen's Compensation annual reconciliation and preparation of return of earnings for authorisation. Prepare Department of Labour Workmen's Compensation and UIF compliance and audits. Maintain disability cases. Provide SARS assistance. Reconcile leave in alignment with ESS and time and attendance. Prepare and submit payroll reports to operations team and management. Assist with ESS workflow for new allocation. Employee Tax Registrations. 3rd party appointments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
