Cold Calling & Client Meetings: Proactively contact potential clients and construction professionals, arrange meetings at offices or on site, and generate new business opportunities. Relationship Building: Build strong, long‑term trust relationships with architects, QSs, developers, contractors, retail stakeholders, and clients. Project Understanding & Solution Selling: Understand each project’s requirements, scope, budget, timelines, and decision‑making process to offer the correct solution, rather than simply selling products. Deal Making & Negotiation: Coordinate relevant stakeholders, work with QSs and architects where required, prepare proposals, negotiate effectively, and bring deals together successfully. Costing, Profitability & Targets: Prepare accurate cost calculations, understand gross profit and margins, work confidently on spreadsheets, and consistently meet agreed monthly sales targets. Product Training & Showroom Support: Spend the first 3 months in the showroom to learn the products, pricing, sales process, company culture, and customer expectations, and assist in the retail showroom one weekend per month as required. Sales Administration & Market Awareness: Maintain accurate records of leads, projects, quotations, follow‑ups, and sales activity, while staying informed about new developments, competitors, and opportunities in the area. Produkopleiding & Vertoonlokaalondersteuning: Spandeer die eerste 3 maande in die vertoonlokaal om die produkte, pryse, verkoopsproses, maatskappykultuur en kliënteverwagtinge te leer, en help een naweek per maand in die kleinhandelvertoonlokaal soos vereis. Verkoopsadministrasie & Markbewustheid: Hou akkurate rekords van leidrade, projekte, kwotasies, opvolgings en verkoopsaktiwiteite, terwyl jy ingelig bly oor nuwe ontwikkelings, mededingers en geleenthede in die gebied. Persoonlike Eienskappe: Demonstreer sterk selfdissipline, kommersiële bewustheid, numeriese redenasievermoë, mensekennis, onderhandelingsvaardighede en ’n entrepreneuriese benadering tot besigheidsontwikkeling. Minimum Requirements / Minimum Vereistes (English) National Senior Certificate. 5+ years’ proven experience in external sales. Experience within a similar industry will be advantageous. Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport. Must have own laptop, cellphone, and be able to cover own work‑related travel expenses, including fuel, as this is an Independent Contractor role. Must be willing to work from the office when required. Must be willing to spend the first 3 months working in the showroom to learn the products, company culture, and sales process. Excellent cold calling, negotiation, and deal‑making skills. Strong ability to build long‑term relationships with retail clients, architects, quantity surveyors, and other key stakeholders. Must be professional, and confident when dealing with large projects and high‑value clients. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets, calculations, and sales/costing information. Good numerical reasoning skills with the ability to calculate costs, understand gross profit, and work with margins. Strong self‑discipline, time management, and ability to work independently. Must be comfortable working as an Independent Contractor, with the ability to claim qualifying business expenses for tax purposes. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Minimum Requirements / Minimum Vereistes (Afrikaans) Nasionale Senior Sertifikaat. 5+ jaar se bewese ervaring in eksterne verkope. Ervaring binne ’n soortgelyke bedryf sal voordelig wees.
