As part of your portfolio as Senior Manager: Payments Products, you will be: The Senior Manager: Payments Products is responsible to develop, execute, and manage the Products ecosystem and lifecycle. Oversee development and deployment of payments products as per the overall strategy and business plan across Finco. The Senior Manager is responsible to drive innovation, iteration, and optimisation of payment products, with a focus managing and enhancing product features, repeat engagement & analysis. The SM collaborates with Product Owners to better understand how businesses and consumers are interacting with payment products, to inform and evaluate new features and experiences and to influence product strategy through data-informed insights and recommendations. This entails conceiving, scoping, and conducting analysis to deepen our understanding of the product usage, identify opportunities to deliver more value, and measure successful outcomes The role has a specific focus and ownership of the projects within payments products space. The incumbent needs to define and manage the value proposition, business case, timelines and budgets for all projects and ensure timely delivery while pursuing the highest quality standards. As part of the leadership team, the Senior Manager is responsible to contribute to Finco’s overall strategic goals, to achieve profitable growth, and to continuously improve the operations performance. Develop and implement the medium to long-term strategy for B2C & B2B segment payments products proposals and ensure alignment of the initiatives undertaken in the unit to the Group Fintech Payments and Ecosystem strategy Prioritizing and supporting the work of multiple consumer-facing / business facing products and providing a cohesive vision across the organization Oversee the design, development, and delivery of payment products to include software: architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, development of coding standards, design and development of source code and test plans, code and module design, development and testing, application debugging Lead the building/ development of payments products in line with the overall FINCO strategy and business plan. Design, Implement and undertake ongoing review of appropriate payments platform strategy based on business requirements in line with consumer engagement outcomes Collaborate with the overall payments and ecosystem internal and external partners, and cross-functional internal teams to define and deliver programs Analyse product performance, identify problems and opportunities, recommend solutions and support efficient implementation Collaborate with product owners to ensure instrumentation of flows and manage the definition and implementation of A/B tests. Communicate the A/B tests results to stakeholders with recommendations for next steps Analyse user behavioural data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities for product improvements and provide insights on how to optimize user experience, flow conversion and user retention. Build the product metric structure for different products reflecting the key KPIs of products Communicate complex technical designs and solutions in clear, concise, and easily readable format by both technical and non-technical personnel Accurately determine, assign, track and manage project task, activity, documentation, and time information Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design/ project. Communicate successes, metrics, risks and issues to stakeholders Keep abreast of current trends in Product development, design concepts and technologies Oversee the improvement of existing processes using new and existing technology, and recommend and implement new process or procedures to improve efficiency, enhance security or reduce and mitigate risks Provide technical support by utilizing knowledge of existing technology to solve problems and support new projects, while exploring new technologies with a focus on business opportunities Review vendor proposals, identify best fit vendors and support the RFP, and vendor selection process with procurement team Work with vendors to ensure high quality delivery. Address and solve technology integration issues with vendors Report monthly to the Payments & Ecosystems General Manager relating to progress made in accordance with the delivery of Payments product roadmap from both project, implementation, and performances perspectives Must-haves Education Minimum of 4-year tertiary degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or related field MBA or Masters (advantageous) Formal certification in Digital Product Management / Product Owner, Agile Delivery, User Experience or other relevant fields would be beneficial Experience Minimum of 7 years of experience in Fintech, Financial Services, telecommunications, banking, mobile money Manager track record of 4 years or more; with at least 3 years’ experience in financial Services, corporate sales or relevant sector Proven track record of managing and execution of full life-cycle mobile payments projects Experience in merchant acquisition, loyalty and online payment gateway Experience electronic/digital payment business is advantageous Experience with Agile delivery and Development Operations frameworks Deep understanding of the Fintech ecosystem, players, business models and industry related best practices Worked across diverse cultures and geographies Pan Africa multi-cultural experience is advantageous Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven and ability to motivate a fast-paced team Attitude of Innovation, inventiveness and thought leadership Abreast of global mind-set and best practice Willing and flexible to travel within Africa and Middle East What will give an edge to your application Functional Knowledge Understanding of FinTech, banking, microfinance and payment businesses Digital & Mobile Payment products & services Mobile & Digital Payments & Ecosystem Coding & Development Agile working methodologies Product design and development lifecycle Product quality assurance Design analytics Project management Data science advanced Advanced DevOps & continuous integration Business requirements gathering/analysis Product & Performance analytics B2C and B2B Payment Segment Closing date: 19 September 2025.
