This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven professional to lead financial operations within a dynamic environment.Position Overview: Role: Financial AccountantLevel: Middle ManagementReports to: Managing DirectorEmployment Type: PermanentLocation: Cape TownRemuneration: Market-relatedResponsibilities: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and goals Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets Establish and improve financial system controls Monitor and manage financial accounting, reporting, and cash flow Maintain banking relationships and ensure operational funding Forecast costs, revenues, and manage contract/project financials Manage tax payments and ensure group-wide tax efficiency Analyze and report financial variances with cost-saving strategies Assist the MD with budgeting and financial decision-making Oversee capital budgeting and financial forecasting Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audit processes Maintain accurate ledgers, accounts, and financial records Support the development, mentorship, and upskilling of the finance team Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures Requirements: Relevant Degree in Finance or Accounting Minimum 5 years' finance experience in the construction industry Must reside in Cape Town Proficient in Buildsmart and MS Office Fluent in English and Afrikaans (both verbal and written) South African Citizen Valid, unendorsed driver's license and own vehicle Key Skills & Attributes: Professional discretion and a service-oriented approach Strong technical skills across financial systems and controls High accuracy, analytical mindset, and financial acumen Effective team player with leadership and mentorship capabilities Organized and able to thrive under pressure High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on management style Contact RPO Recruitment for your next career-changing move.
