Introduction Listed Group in the retail industry requires candidate to be responsible for the effective performance of one of the stores of the Brand, and be responsible for the management of all retail activities, taking responsibility for the recruitment, management, and developing of staff. To ensure that store achieves set KPIs regarding Sales, Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit, Stock Turn, Productivity, Stock Loss and Toxic Stock Management. To contribute to the implementation of the Brand's strategy that maximizes the retail net profit by driving sales and controlling costs at a Store level. To build motivated and high performing team through the effective leadership and line management to retail staff. Ensure customer service expectations are met and exceeded, take market share and drive community engagement Duties & Responsibilities Human Resources To effectively recruit, induct, lead, manage, train and develop staff. To ensure effective basic retail disciplines are applied and to ensure adequate people pipeline To ensure staff appraisals are completed regularly. Works with the HR Department to ensure people management issues are satisfactorily resolved and relevant HR policies and procedures are adhered to. Health & Safety compliance. Proactively manages and reviews the performance and progress of staff, sets objectives and targets; works with the Training department to develop individual training plans for the team. Stock Planning and Management Monitor stock levels to determine the need for stock supply at store and manage under/overstock situations. Maintain good working relationships with Suppliers. Ensure that BMO principles and methodology is followed and adhered to. Ensure core range compliance. Implementation of management directives. Ensure store insurance claims are timeously and completely submitted. Pricing and Competitor Analysis Advise on product pricing using results of market and demand analysis. Examining market trends and providing feedback to management. Merchandise and Display Work in conjunction with the Visual Merchandising Team to develop and drive the Display and Merchandise principles Sales Takes a lead role in building a strong sales management culture, identifying skills and opportunities for development, provides advice and guidance on staff issues when needed. Customer Service Follow up on customer complaints and resolve their issues. To promote a customer care approach within the business, investigating complaints or issues of poor customer care, both timely and efficiently. Ensure that team live by the values: Honesty, Respect, Belonging, Partnership, Passion. Profit, Budgeting Drive cost leadership principle and productivity loop. Ensuring understanding and buy in from the store team members. Achieve sales & budget targets. Performance Achieve Store KPIs. Plot performance on People balance sheet annually. Desired Experience & Qualification A minimum of 5 years retail experience. A minimum of 2 years in a Leadership position. Experienced in managing relationships at a senior level and managing a diverse (in terms of skill base and experience) team of people. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against a business strategy. Must possess a track record of increasing and sustaining sales growth and profitability even in challenging market conditions. Must demonstrate a proven ability to motivate, coach and develop people and build teams. Skills Required Financial acumen: Must be well versed in compiling budgets, reviewing income statements and benchmark reports. Commercially sound and the influence of operating levers in a hands‑on manner as per the company culture. Excellent organising, planning, delegating and controlling skills. A collaborative team player concerned with the team success as well as individual performance. Visible Leadership skills can motivate others to achieve. Solution orientated, decisive by nature. Excellent communication skills verbal, written (to include report writing and presentations to teams, management, and executives).
