Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Sponsorship and Business Development Manager to lead sponsor acquisition and manage sponsor relationships end to end from March through September 2026. This includes commercial negotiation, structured delivery of sponsorship benefits, and strong administration and process management to ensure consistent execution. This role goes beyond sales. You will be responsible for managing complex sponsorship agreements, internal coordination, and sponsor retention before, during, and after the event. Key Responsibilities Sponsorship Acquisition Identify, approach, and secure high-value sponsors aligned with the event and its industries Convert warm and cold leads into confirmed sponsorship agreements Tailor sponsorship proposals to meet sponsor objectives while protecting event value Sponsor Relationship Management Act as the main point of contact for sponsors once leads are assigned Manage multiple sponsors simultaneously, including complex benefit structures Oversee delivery of all sponsor entitlements pre-event and onsite Ensure sponsors are fully supported and visible during the event Administration & Process Management Maintain accurate sponsorship records, contracts, and communications Track sponsor deliverables, deadlines, and benefit fulfilment Put clear processes in place for sponsorship onboarding, approvals, and reporting Work closely with internal teams to ensure commitments are documented and delivered Stakeholder & Committee Liaison Liaise with organising committee members and industry representatives Coordinate internally to align sponsorship commitments with programming, marketing, and operations Retention & Growth Build long-term sponsor relationships with a focus on renewal and upsell Lead post-event reporting, evaluation, and retention discussions Required Experience & Skills Proven experience in sponsorship sales and relationship management for high-level events Demonstrated ability to manage complex sponsorship packages and benefit delivery Strong administrative and process management capability Excellent organisational and communication skills Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and committee members Willing and able to travel to the host African country for the event (Zambia for 2026) Nice to Have Experience working across African markets Existing sponsor or corporate partnership networks relevant to the event industries Why This Role Senior-level, high-impact contract with clear scope and timeline High-profile international event with strong industry visibility Opportunity to manage sponsor relationships across the full event lifecycle How to Apply If you are the ideal candidate, please complete the next steps, add your CV, and provide a short paragraph explaining your event experience and why this role suits you.
