Cape Umbrellas is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Technical Junior Cost Accountant to join our finance and operations team. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working with numbers, manufacturing processes, costing systems, and operational analysis in a fast-paced production environment. Technical Junior Cost Accountant Location: Airport City, Cape Town Key Responsibilities Assist with product costing and margin analysis Monitor raw material, labour, and production costs Support monthly stock counts and inventory reconciliations Analyse variances between actual and standard costs Prepare costing reports and operational financial analysis Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials) and costing databases Work closely with production, procurement, and finance departments Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives Assist with month-end reporting and audit requirements Minimum Requirements Diploma or Degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or technical environment advantageous Strong numerical and analytical skills Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory control advantageous Knowledge of Pastel Evolution Package Good attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and within a team Preferred Attributes Technically minded with an interest in manufacturing operations Organised and deadline driven Eager to learn and grow within the business Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative What We Offer Opportunity to grow within a well-established manufacturing company Exposure to operational finance and costing systems Supportive and dynamic working environment Market-related salary based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
