Overview Safari JOBS is recruiting for a highly capable, detail‑driven Executive Housekeeper for a well‑established luxury safari property that is actively raising its standards and positioning itself as one of the leading lodges in its region. This key leadership role is for someone who takes genuine pride in immaculate presentation, spotless rooms, well‑maintained guest areas, and the small details that quietly shape an exceptional guest experience. The successful candidate will oversee the full housekeeping function, ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, room readiness, presentation, and guest satisfaction across the lodge. Responsibilities Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations. Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house areas meet required standards. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks. Maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards at all times. Report and coordinate maintenance in rooms with the maintenance team. Implement and manage daily cleaning schedules and task allocations. Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters. Manage performance, discipline, and development of team members. Promote a positive and productive working environment. Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver consistent performance. Ensure optimal staffing coverage and operational efficiency. Manage linen, cleaning materials, and guest supplies. Monitor stock levels and place orders as required. Conduct regular stock takes and control wastage. Maintain and update SOPs, checklists, and operational standards. Maintain accurate housekeeping records, reports, and administrative documentation. Qualifications Clear criminal record. Excellent employment track record—references verified. Excellent English fluency and literacy. Computer literate—Outlook, Word, basic Excel, Internet. Previous experience in a senior housekeeping role (Supervisor / Head / Executive). Experience in 4‑star, preferably 5‑star establishments. Proven leadership and team‑management ability. Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Ability to work under pressure and manage a team of thirty staff—two supervisors and housekeepers. Previous safari or game lodge experience. Familiarity with Nebula or other property management systems. Experience in procurement, F&B, or other lodge departments. Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence. Provident fund: 25% employer contribution (not compulsory) after first three months. Performance‑based bonus at the discretion of the company. Company‑issued uniform, laundry facilities for staff use. On‑site staff transportation to/from accommodation and lodge, if required.
