Main tasks and responsibilities (not limited to); Oversee all laboratory testing activities (raw materials, in-process, and finished goods). Ensure rubber compound testing complies with internal specifications and customer requirements. Approve test results and authorize release of materials/products. Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Maintain accurate test records, certificates of compliance, and traceability. Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Support ISO and quality audits (internal and external); Support product development trials and technical improvements. Analyze test data to improve compound performance. Collaborate with Production Manager on process optimization. Assist with root cause analysis for product failures. Provide technical guidance to workshop and production teams Ensure compliance with: Occupational Health & Safety Act ISO Quality standards (if applicable) Internal SOPs and work instructions Maintain safe laboratory and workshop environments. Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections. Ensure proper chemical handling and storage. Supervise Lab Assistant Conduct performance reviews and monthly check-ins. Train staff on testing procedures and production standards. Ensure SOP adherence and accountability. Identify skill gaps and training needs.
