Qualifications Electrical Trade Certificate (Red Seal) National Certificate N3 (Electrical) or higher Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) as an Installation Electrician (IE) Valid Installation Electrician registration number, verifiable with the DEL Single-Phase-Only (ETSP) registration will be considered only where the role does not require certification of three-phase installations Valid driver's licence Requirements 3 - 5+ years of post-apprenticeship experience in commercial and industrial electrical work Proven experience in fault-finding, distribution boards (DBs), and 3-phase electrical systems Demonstrated experience issuing Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) Proven site supervision experience Ability to independently run projects, inspect completed work, and sign off work performed by others (including Tier B electricians) Registration number must be verifiable Core Competencies Reading, interpreting, and verifying Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematics, drawings, and technical specifications Inspection, testing, commissioning, and certification of electrical installations Installation, maintenance, and commissioning of 3-phase systems, switchgear, distribution boards, MCCs, and related equipment Thorough knowledge of SANS 10142-1 Thorough knowledge of SANS 10142-1-2 for Embedded Generation and Grid-Tied Solar PV Systems Competence to inspect, test, certify, and issue Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) Competence to inspect and certify grid-tied Solar PV installations Understanding of Small-Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) registration requirements and utility compliance processes Strong technical reporting, documentation, and client communication skills Key Responsibilities Install, test, commission, and maintain electrical systems and equipment Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies Identify and resolve faults efficiently Supervise and mentor electricians, including Tier B personnel Inspect quality of work and sign off completed installations where authorised Deliver projects safely, on time, and to the required quality standards Leadership & Compliance Responsibilities Ensure all work complies with SANS requirements, OEM specifications, and company standards Inspect, test, and certify installations and issue CoCs where legally authorised Oversee documentation, compliance records, and regulatory submissions Promote a quality-first and safety-first culture on site Advantageous Experience Experience certifying grid-tied Solar PV installations Responsibility for CoC sign-off on company solar projects may form part of the role PV GreenCard certification is a strong advantage Previous experience with SSEG applications, approvals, and compliance processes is advantageous #J-18808-Ljbffr
