Retail Team Lead — M-KOPA Gauteng We are looking for a Retail Team Lead to oversee operations, drive customer service standards, lead retail training, and manage the people and processes that keep our retail channel performing across South Africa. What the Work Actually Looks Like The breadth of this role is genuine. You will review service centre performance data, conduct stock audits, coordinate shop renovations, run training sessions, resolve Freshdesk ticket escalations, and prepare performance reports. You will monitor performance across service centres, stock points, and depots, work with cross‑functional teams to resolve customer issues quickly, and ensure standard compliance. Stock management includes supervising controllers, overseeing inventory tracking, implementing procedures, conducting audits, and coordinating with supply chain for timely replenishment. Shop management covers brand execution, permits, look‑and‑feel, branding materials, and maintenance. You will collaborate with the Retail Senior Manager and Marketing to ensure all locations meet standards. Training involves developing and managing the retail knowledge base, owning schedules, identifying gaps, and delivering structured training. Direct reports include Retail Trainers. You will manage Customer Care Executives, maintain CASAT and SLA reporting, drive policy adherence, and support Depot Shop Owner activities including commissioning and commercials. People management spans roster building, performance reviews, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, and fostering a motivated team environment. What Makes You Ready For This Proven experience in a supervisory role within retail operations, with a track record managing stock control, shop operations, and multi‑site performance. Strong working knowledge of inventory management systems and retail processes, including audits, SLA adherence and operational gap identification. Organisational capability and leadership to manage a diverse team, willingness to travel nationwide, and flexibility to handle a broad remit without losing quality.
