Senior Manager, Payroll (UK Region) Location ZAF Cape Town – 18 Main Rd, Claremont, Cape Town, 7708. Type: Full time. Responsibilities Ensure that payrolls are processed in a timely manner, running successfully in adherence to established regulatory requirements and laws, including tax and labor laws. Actively participate in the setup and maintenance of appropriate policies and standard office operating procedures, applying international, federal, state, and local payroll tax regulatory requirements. Partner to determine key performance standards for payroll processing and manage operations to ensure those standards are met. Identify areas of payroll processing for improvement and propose new ways of addressing and settling issues. Provide effective leadership, supervision, and guidance to payroll team members, including setting SMART goals, offering training, guidance, and expertise. Ensure adequate training and development so payroll staff can effectively answer customer inquiries, research, troubleshoot, and resolve cases relating to customer escalations. Plan, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of subordinates, and participate in hiring, termination, or disciplining staff. Ensure robust processes for tax and accounting reconciliation, executing tax updates that are designed, implemented, and complied with. Ensure robust processes for year‑end closing and new year start‑up, designed, implemented, and complied with. Assist in global work and initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a four‑year college or university with 10+ years of experience, including 2–4 years of progressive management experience (preferred). Demonstrated ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex information. Solid understanding of the organization’s business operations and industry, demonstrating business acumen. Ability to foster a customer‑service disposition and a sense of professionalism for self and team. Excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated initiative and ownership, focused on continuous improvement. Ability to mentor, coach, and provide direction to a team of employees. Proven ability to lead teams in organizing and prioritizing projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
