Management Level Director – Audit & Assurance At PwC, the director focuses on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information, enhancing credibility and reliability for stakeholders. The role drives business growth, shapes the direction of client engagements, mentors the next generation of leaders, and maintains PwC’s reputation for quality, integrity, inclusion, and commercial insight. Role Summary The position includes fulfilling the engagement leader role on a portfolio of private clients consisting of individuals, trusts, close corporations and companies, signing independent review and compilation reports. The director also supports the partner in leading the non‑attest division by overseeing managers and staff, coordinating day‑to‑day operations, and identifying and pursuing growth opportunities within the Eastern Cape region. Qualifications / Certifications CA(SA) or equivalent Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an accounting environment, preferably within an audit or similar organization Good understanding and working experience in IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and taxation Responsibilities Participate as a member of the Assurance Leadership team for the PwC Eastern Cape region Serve as engagement leader for the portfolio of clients Provide oversight of managers and staff, including work allocation, coaching, training, output review, and performance management Interact with clients to identify and execute growth opportunities Perform tax planning and calculations and other operational functions Skill Sets Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team or independently Ownership of issues and strong organisational / time‑management skills Coaching ability for complex issues Attention to detail and accuracy Strong report‑writing skills Analytical and solution‑driven mindset Pro‑active and committed to delivery Intellectual curiosity and proven leadership abilities Adherence to professional and technical standards, firm code of conduct, and independence requirements Other Conditions Travel up to 20% Standard independence requirements must be considered Available for work visa sponsorship – No Job posting end date: June 4, 2026 #J-18808-Ljbffr
