Job Purpose We are seeking an individual with relevant experience in plumbing and/or gas central heating, or a demonstrable background in a related technical or building services environment. The Team Leader will assist provision of an effective and efficient service to the public in respect of property repairs, maintenance and upgrades to the council’s housing and non-housing stock through supervising a team of multi‑skilled tradespersons. Location Kittybrewster Complex, Aberdeen Duration Permanent, Full Time Roles that require PVG Membership From 1 April 2023, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership if the role has a full‑time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non‑members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first full month’s salary payment. Post Holder Minimum Qualifications Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in a building trade at SCQF level 5 (SVQ level 2) or equivalent / other relevant qualifications / relevant site experience. Hold a valid UK driving licence. Postholder Competencies Working with all main building trades. Knowledge of social housing stock and the construction methods used in building them. Good knowledge of building regulations. Knowledge of the regulations relating to asbestos. Understanding of current Health and Safety issues and all current legislation and statutory procedures.
