Summer Student Support Worker Community Inclusions Ltd.Funded through the Government of Canada – Canada Summer Jobs Program Position Summary Community Inclusions Ltd. is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and dependable individuals for the position of Summer Student Support Worker. The successful candidates will support individuals with intellectual disabilities in community-based programs, recreational activities, employment supports, and daily living experiences while promoting inclusion, independence, dignity, and personal choice. This position provides valuable experience for students interested in human services, social work, education, psychology, recreation, nursing, or community support. Key Responsibilities Support individuals in community participation activities and recreational outings Assist individuals in developing social, communication, and life skills Encourage independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy Provide positive role modeling and build respectful relationships Support individuals during day programs, employment activities, and community events Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily routines as required Follow individualized support plans and organizational policies Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting when necessary Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of supported individuals Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, families, and community partners Qualifications Must meet eligibility requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs Program Currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education, or returning to school in the fall Interest in human services, disability support, education, or community work considered an asset Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, respectful, and adaptable Previous experience working with persons with disabilities is considered an asset but is not required Requirements Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation may be required Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Current First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Working Conditions Daytime, evening, and occasional weekend shifts may be required Work may occur in community settings, residential locations, employment sites, and program facilities Active role requiring walking, lifting, and participation in recreational activities What Students Will Gain Hands-on experience in the human services field Training in inclusive support practices and positive behaviour support Experience working within a professional team environment Opportunities to build leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills Meaningful work that positively impacts the lives of others and the community Essential Skills Oral Communication Problem Solving Working with Others Soft Skills Confidence Desire to Learn Empathy Team Oriented Hard Skills Human Services Digital Skills Database Management Email Marketing Languages English #J-18808-Ljbffr
