Duties and Responsibilities Lead the engineering of primary systems for high-voltage substations Design and review high-voltage equipment layouts, arrangements, and supporting structures Specify and integrate high-voltage equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and CTs/VTs Develop primary layouts, general arrangement drawings, and installation concepts Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and grid operator requirements Provide technical leadership and ownership across internal and external engineering teams Coordinate with secondary engineering, civil, construction, and commissioning teams Support installation, testing, and commissioning of primary equipment Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Power Engineering Minimum 7 years’ experience in primary high-voltage substation engineering In-depth knowledge of transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, and VTs Strong experience with high-voltage layouts, equipment installation, and mechanical structures Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams Experience with L-CAD and/or EPLAN Proactive, result-driven mindset with strong technical ownership Preferably experience with a company that both designs and constructs high-voltage substations Fluent in English and Afrikaans, with willingness to learn Dutch #J-18808-Ljbffr
