About the job Personal lines Underwriter Purpose of the role: Provide stakeholders with effective and efficient personal lines underwriting services according to the required standards and procedures in order to retain existing clients and secure new business in support of the business strategy. Ensure that all stakeholder communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevant Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ensure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction target Adhere to company processes, service level agreements, quality assurance targets and broader regulatory frameworks wrt the following processes (but not limited to): General Enquiries such as but not limited to cover, products, processes New Business, Renewals, Endorsements and Re-brokeConduct risk assessments Analyse clients portfolios Request, obtain and assess quotes from insurers Rate policies Request, obtain and/or provide clients with all required information and/or documents Arrange valuations and reinsurance Raise premiums File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy Upsell cover to clients where appropriate Follow retention processes Cancel the policy on the system Confirm cancellation request with the client File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy RefundsRaise invoices Request refunds from line manager electronically File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy New Business, Renewals, Endorsements and Re-brokeConduct risk assessments Analyse clients portfolios Request, obtain and assess quotes from insurers Rate policies Request, obtain and/or provide clients with all required information and/or documents Arrange valuations and reinsurance Raise premiums File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy Upsell cover to clients where appropriate CancellationsFollow retention processes Cancel the policy on the system Confirm cancellation request with the client File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy RefundsRaise invoices Request refunds from line manager electronically File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy Keep accurate record of own activities Adhere to company mandates Participate and contribute in ad hoc projects Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation and/or dishonesty Matric or equivalent FAIS Compliant Computer Literate 2 years experience working in a client services environment 2 years experience as a Personal Lines Underwriter #J-18808-Ljbffr
