MAINTENANCE TRADESPERSON Our client, a leading milling and animal feed products company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Tradesperson to join their team in Bloemfontein! Location: Bloemfontein, Free State Salary: R20,000 - R30,000 (R35,000 Max) Industry: Milling & Food Manufacturing (FMCG) Essential Qualifications: National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF 4) Trade Test Certificate 5+ years post-trade experience (REQUIRED) Agricultural or FMCG experience REQUIRED Code 8 driver's license and own transport Essential Experience: 5+ years post-trade experience in agricultural or FMCG environment Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience Food manufacturing industry experience essential Experience with industrial and agricultural machinery Electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Key Responsibilities: Preventative Maintenance: Conduct daily routine inspections of machinery and equipment Perform breakdown repairs and maintenance Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and services Plant Maintenance: Install or upgrade equipment as instructed Utilize problem-solving techniques to address failures Complete shut down maintenance as per schedule Complete all assigned job cards and documentation Fault Finding: Daily inspection and fault finding of machines Diagnose root cause of mechanical malfunctions and repair Log faults for shut down maintenance Report major faults to Maintenance Manager Supervisory & Mentorship: Daily management of maintenance assistants Share technical knowledge for career development Identify skill gaps within team Coach and develop others Safety & Compliance: Maintain safe work environment with proper lockout procedures Complete daily HACCP records Practice "clean as you go" housekeeping standards Ensure food safety and quality compliance Key Competencies: Time management and task prioritization Accuracy and attention to detail Critical thinking and analytical abilities Manual dexterity and quality workmanship Coping with pressure and reliability Safety consciousness and fault-finding skills Ability to train and coach staff
