Job Description: A well established company in the earthmoving and mining industry is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions in Isando, Kempton ParkThe ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, financial planning, risk management, budgeting, leadership experience, and regulatory compliance, along with strong analytical and organizational skill and a solid understanding of financial regulations.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Masters or MBA preferred) CPA, CMA, CFA or equivalent certification preferred 5-10 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft) with Acumatica experience a massive advantage Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools Knowledge of tax reporting and compliance Experience in strategic planning and business development Understanding of international finance and multi-currency environments (for global firms) Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Familiarity with inventory, job costing, and project-based accounting Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger operations Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Develop, manage, and oversee the companys financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses Support strategic initiatives and business planning through financial modeling and analysis Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with GAAP (or IFRS) Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making Manage internal controls, financial audits, and risk assessments Support audits (internal and external) by providing documentation and explanations Manage internal controls, policies, procedures and risk assessments Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses Provide mentorship and guidance to all staff required Supervise and mentor finance/accounting staff, ensuring efficient team performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial goals Applicants who meet the criteria are invited to submit their CV to use relevant reference number (MAN: L43VVW47)Correspondence will only be conducted with short listed candidates.
