About the role General Assistant (External Applications Only) Ensure comprehensive customer service in store. Merchandising of stock, shelf price labelling and housekeeping within designated area of responsibility. Requirements Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 and one year work‑related experience OR Grade 12 without related work experience Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available Valid South African ID or work permit Ability to perform basic calculations accurately Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays Ability to work under pressure Key Performance Areas Customer Service Advise and assist customers on correct products and queries Assist with and resolve customer complaints Merchandising Standards Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to store layout plan Ensure your area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to store layout and planograms Housekeeping Keep the area free of obstacles, merchandise stock immediately after receipt, and ensure customers can move through aisles safely Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility Ensure the checklist is completed as required when on duty with canteen and toilet/showers schedule Safety (OHSA) Requirements Compliance with safety (OHSA) regulations (e.g., use of safety gear, ensure customer and staff safety) within area of responsibility Ensure stock in racking and bulk is merchandised safely for customers and colleagues to move safely within the store Report any discrepancies to the store manager Manage stock loss Report damaged stock within area of responsibility to the store manager Values Integrity Comply with generally accepted standards in activities related to the position Keep promises Create realistic expectations Be sincere Handle sensitive information carefully Show awareness of values and indicate when boundaries are crossed Accuracy Effectively handle detailed information and be consistently attentive to details Work in an orderly fashion Ensure matters are handled orderly and accurately from start to finish Prevent mistakes Invest energy in checking work for mistakes Client focus Identify and actively respond to clients' wishes and needs Deal with clients in a friendly manner Show involvement in the client's problem Make clients feel welcome Approach the client's question with a can‑do mentality Personal development Be aware of one's own strengths and weaknesses and consciously work on personal development Focus on self‑broadening and/or gaining deeper knowledge Follow relevant training programmes and/or seek opportunities to gain experience Seek and use opportunities for personal development Ask for feedback in order to learn #J-18808-Ljbffr
