Senior Manager – Private Equity – Fund Services Manage the overall service delivery of the Private Equity accounting team, to ensure the following: Thatvaluations are performed completely, accurately and within the requiredclient deadlines. Valuations/accountsare distributed accurately and on time to all parties. Thatall client queries are responded to and resolved to the satisfaction ofthe client within a reasonable timeframe. Thatcompliance checks and reporting are completed accurately and within theset deadlines. Adherenceto all agreed controls, policies and procedures. Accurateand timeously correspondence with shareholders of underlying funds. Accurateand timeously payment of expenses and execution of investments inaccordance with investment documentation. Beingresponsible for producing financial statements for all allocated clientsin accordance with the most relevant accounting and regulatory standardsand client driven requirements. Responsiblefor facilitating the audit process for all clients. Responsiblefor managing the team resources and allocating tasks and monitoring clientservice levels for reporting purposes. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Planand monitor resources and resource capacity within an allocated team toensure that all deliveries are maintained, and service levels upheld. Manageand monitor the ongoing training, coaching to ensure the continuousdevelopment of staff in the team (this includes the performance managementof direct line reports). Organiseand hold regular meetings with your allocated team and each individualmember (one-on-one’s) to ensure regular communication and correspondence. Manageall activities within the allocated team in a positive effective way toinstil a positive, solution-oriented work environment within the team(this includes managing/monitoring the resolution of all issues andconcerns applicable to the relevant team). Participatein business improvements across processes, controls and systems to ensurethey are effectively implements within the allocated ops team. Thisincludes the monitoring, initiating and participating in any riskreduction/efficiency gaining projects impacting the operational team. Projectmanage where required the take-on/launch of all new funds/clientsallocated to ensure operationally the team is ready. Investigate,report and implement (Take overall responsibility) the required correctiveand/or preventative action for all operational errors and incidents whichoccurred in the allocated ops team to ensure successful resolution andmanagement of the error or incident. Checkand authorise payments (as an A Signatory) to ensure the payment has beencorrectly prepared. Checkand approve valuations (as an A Signatory) to ensure all the requiredinformation has been captured and processed correctly. Superviseothers to ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness in of the teamin executing deliverables. Reviewingand ensure all documentation are in place for investment purchases andsales / distributions. Reviewof accurate expense and accrual calculations, including management andadmin fee calculation. Investigatingand answering queries with auditors, clients, and any other relevantservice provider. Monitor/reviewthe production of financial statements for portfolio of clients inaccordance with the applicable financial reporting standards. Tomonitor the client audit process internally according to an agreedtimetable and regulatory deadlines to ensure all parties are delivering asagreed and resolve/escalate any obstacles and/or delays timely. Attendpre and post audit meetings to ensure audit planning, comments, andrecommendations as well as any post audit adjustments to be made tovaluations are discussed. Ensuringcompliance with company policy and procedures; client service levelagreements and internal controls. Reviewof NAV notices and disseminate to a pre-defined distribution list. Note:Although the primary function of a Manager is checking and supervising theabove tasks, in certain circumstances a Manager may also be required toperform the above-mentioned activities. Coachand supervise other team members (including training and coordinating thetraining of new team members) to ensure the team functions as a cohesiveunit. Activelyparticipate in ensuring all processes and procedures are properlydocumented and adhered to, to ensure no accounting errors occur and theteam has latency in place. Queryand issue resolution within the team (whether it’s Investran or systemissues, or client or custodian issues) to ensure no queries or issuesresult in an error, breach or client dissatisfaction. Investigateerrors, complete the required JTC error reporting process and implementthe required remedial action in order to ensure the error is not repeated. Activelyand continually identify and report high risk areas and gaps in processesto ensure the identification and escalation of risks and gaps. Checkstatutory returns in order to ensure JTC satisfies the fund regulatoryobligations. Monitorthat the relevant sections in the delivery matrix are accurately updatedand maintained to ensure all parties are aware of what has been completed,and Oversight can promptly review the NAV whererequired. Complete/monitorall sundry administrative tasks, including (but not limited to) accurate /timely time recording and filing of Accounts / NAV within Viewpoint. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Arelevant tertiary qualification, preferably including Accounting; Finance;Investments. CA(SA), ACCA or equivalent. Minimumof 5 years investment fund administration, more specifically in Private Equity and venture Capital. Goodaccounting and investment product knowledge, including retail fundproducts. Experience in leading teams and client engagements. Excellentnumeracy skills and attention to detail. Exposure/ Experience in dealing and interacting with clients, specifically in the Private Equity and Venture Capital space would be advantageous. Experience in managing client portfolios varying in complexity and size. Goodtechnical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP/US GAAP &Other). Exposureto valuations, equalisations and carried interest calculations.
