We operate technology platforms and shared services, ensure cyber and information security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator across Sanlam. What will you do? We are seeking an entry level SAP HCM Solution Architect who will be responsible for the end‑to‑end solution architecture of Sanlam’s Human Capital technology landscape. This role ensures that SAP HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and related integrations are strategically aligned, secure, scalable, and fit for purpose, supporting current business operations while enabling future transformation. The role bridges business strategy, HR process design, and enterprise technology architecture, translating complex business requirements into robust, sustainable SAP Human Capital solutions that comply with Sanlam’s enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks. We adopt a hybrid working policy and expect you to be in the office 3 days a week. Key Responsibilities Engage with business and technical stakeholders to elicit goals, objectives, priorities, and requirements. Translate requirements into a solution architecture that addresses both business and technical needs. Design and validate a complex solution architecture to ensure successful implementation. Design solution integration architecture, researching new solutions to address business problems. Provide solution advisory, recommendations, and guidance on SAP Human Capital platforms (SAP HCM ECC, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Business Technology Platform, etc.). Contribute to the strategic planning and architecture definition of Sanlam’s SAP Human Capital landscape. Interpret business processes for which the solution architecture is developed. Influence business and IT strategies to ensure collaborative alignment. Contribute to building SAP Human Capital technical and application roadmaps (both on‑prem and cloud). Provide guidance in the SAP Human Capital landscape systems migration or upgrades. Document overall solution architecture and integration in line with Sanlam Enterprise and Solution Architecture standards. Present solutions architecture to Sanlam forums (e.g., Architecture Solutions Evaluation & Review forum). Qualifications Matric. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. SAP SuccessFactors certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP SuccessFactors BizX modules, Platform Administration) are desirable. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience configuring and supporting SAP SuccessFactors modules (Employee Central, Performance & Goals, Recruiting, Onboarding, Succession & Development, Compensation, Learning, EC Payroll or Time Off). Knowledge of SAP HCM ECC modules (Personal Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, Payroll) is required. Design and implementation experience in the modules listed above, aligning with organizational HC processes. Working knowledge of SAP HCM ECC6 modules. Knowledge of how BTP and CPI support integration and development. Experience managing and monitoring integrations between SAP SuccessFactors modules, replication to SAP ECC6, and third‑party systems. Understanding of SAP architecture, design, configuration, implementation, testing, and data governance, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Subject‑matter expertise on the latest SAP development tools, providing technical advice to business analysts and stakeholders. Technical Skills Understanding of IT Service Management principles and frameworks (e.g., ITIL 4) and project & program management methodologies. Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) is advantageous. Working knowledge of ABAP and SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 (for feasibility analysis).
