Quality Engineer (Product Safety Representative) Required for a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Kariega, Eastern Cape . Requirements: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 3-5 years’ relevant experience in the automotive industry within Production/ Product Engineering / Quality environment Knowledge of vehicle functions (Body, powertrain, chassis, electrical) Ability to process and analyse complex data Excellent report writing and presentation skills Ability to communicate and present at all levels within the organisation Self-starter with the ability to work independently Responsibilities: Assisting in new projects with the establishment of Product Safety to implement actions/corrective actions to vehicle safety requirements for the prevention of repeat failures using the Product Safety catalogue (lessons learnt). Inspecting pre-series units with other Q-type responsible PSB’s to expedite safety relevant problem recognition and corrective action implementation. Undertaking regular vehicle and line checks to evaluate current production (parts, part assemblies and sub-assemblies) and obtain corrective actions for potential safety relevant problems detected. Representing the Quality Assurance Department during technical discussions with Service and the Product Safety Committee. Ensuring/initiating and assisting in the establishment of corrective action to resolve problems, tracking monitoring of the implementation of agreed actions, and verification of effectiveness within Production/Field with the Service Department.
