We are currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor who is highly motivated & result oriented individual, responsible for managing suppliers and subcontractor related matters as well as Junior QS work across various trades for Raubex Building Cape. The role will mainly start in the finance team as a creditor’s clerk with Junior QS work as capacity is available and the later into a full time Junior QS role. Responsibilities Ensuring invoices are matched against requisitions, purchase order and goods received. Ensure requisitions, purchase orders, credit notes & invoices are authorised in accordance with prescribed financial procedures. Ensure correct cost codes and GL accounts are used when processing transactions. Ensure invoices and payments are captured to correct supplier with valid applicable VAT values and discount. Review account statements and make payments on time to ensure that the company has good standing with creditors. Manage supplier billing errors, resolve invoice discrepancies and issues, and follow up on all queries timeously. Maintaining good relations with the sites, suppliers and subcontractors. Reconciliation with our ERP system and suppliers’ statements. Ensure invoices are processed in the correct financial period. Ensuring the age analysis is clean and up to date. Filing of reconciled suppliers with correct documents and proof of payments. Junior Quantity Surveyor: Provide support to the QS in all functions. Conduct on-site measurements to verify the accuracy of claims and monitor material usage. Prepare off-plan measurements to support effective material procurement and planning. Compile on-site waste reports, including conducting daily site inspections and walkabouts. Prepare and maintain detailed material reconciliation reports (Material Recons). Compile Method of Statement (MOS) documentation in accordance with project requirements. Complete and process material and site requisitions accurately and timeously. Monitor and Track Contra Charges to ensure accurate cost control. Conduct Scaffold counts with site clerks. Assist the QS with labour only bookings and sub-contractor bookings. Review and interpret construction drawings effectively. Be familiar with various construction contracts and specifications, including JBCC. Aid the Snr QS in cost control, ensuring alignment with project budgets. Work alongside the Snr QS and Construction Managers to ensure construction budgets are met and provide regular reporting on the same. Record site information for monthly cost reporting and final account purposes. Maintain records and ensure proper document control. Assist the Snr QS in preparing valuations/measurements for interim payment certificates and reconciliation statements and assessing their implications. Collaborate with the Snr QS and Construction Managers in measuring and managing subcontractor and supplier performance. Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures. Oversee the proper execution of administrative functions. In addition to the above responsibilities, the Quantity Surveyor may be required to undertake other tasks in line with general QS knowledge, skills, and activities. Qualifications Grade 12 BSc or BTech Degree/Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying 0-3 Years experience in the Construction industry. Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
