Permanent - Data Analyst GCoE - Johannesburg - South Africa Responsibilities Develop and maintain BI tools that support data analysis and reporting. Ensure data is easily accessible, accurate, and effectively visualized to support business decision making. Work closely with BI team members and stakeholders to create and improve BI solutions that drive business performance and strategic initiatives. Provide robust and scalable BI solutions that enhance business performance and support strategic decision making. Design and develop interactive dashboards that provide a visual representation of business performance. Create detailed reports to visualize key performance indicators and other critical business metrics. Ensure dashboards and reports are user‑friendly, informative, and actionable. Work with IT to integrate data from various sources into a unified reporting platform. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis by collaborating with data analysts and other stakeholders. Implement and maintain data quality standards to uphold the integrity of data used in BI tools. Implement new BI tools and technologies to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities. Optimize existing BI systems to improve performance and scalability. Continuously monitor and improve the BI infrastructure to meet the organization’s evolving needs. Data Integration & ETL Develop and maintain data pipelines to support data integration and transformation. Implement and optimize ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load) to ensure data quality and consistency. Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to provide data for advanced analyses and machine learning models. Skills Strong knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, and MS Fabric. Experience in developing, configuring, and maintaining these tools to support effective data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes. Experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines and data structures. Experience with programming languages and technologies for Synapse Data Engineering and Synapse Data Warehouse such as Python, Spark, and SQL. Personality & Working Style Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and accuracy. Self‑motivated, able to work independently, and with excellent problem‑solving skills. Strong technical communication skills for collaborating with IT and data teams. Experience & Knowledge Proven track record as a BI Developer or in a similar technical role. Expertise in managing the development lifecycle of BI solutions from requirements gathering through to deployment and maintenance. Experience optimizing BI systems for performance and scalability. Proficient in database management and data warehousing concepts. Experience integrating data from various sources and ensuring data consistency and integrity. Qualifications Completed university studies: Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate are a plus. Continuous learning mindset with a focus on staying updated with industry trends and new technologies.
