About the Role You’ll take ownership of producing high‑quality financial reporting across several frameworks and regulatory environments. The role suits someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys problem‑solving and can manage end‑to‑end reporting cycles with precision. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, support external audit processes and maintain a well‑controlled general ledger environment. There is also a strong focus on process refinement and driving efficiencies through improved reporting tools and documentation. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for: Preparing quarterly management accounts and delivering clear financial insights to senior leadership. Producing annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Supporting international regulatory submissions, including offshore statutory reporting requirements. Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations across cash, underwriting, reserves, accruals and payroll. Overseeing the chart of accounts and ensuring accurate and consistent coding structures. Identifying opportunities to streamline reporting, automate manual processes and standardise documentation. Assisting with external audits - gathering information, liaising with auditors and ensuring deadlines are met. Building and maintaining analytical tools and reporting packs to improve decision‑making. Supporting broader finance initiatives and ad‑hoc projects as needed. CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification. Solid experience in financial reporting and general ledger management. Exposure to underwriting or insurance‑related transactions (advantageous). Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks, especially US GAAP. Advanced Excel capabilities and strong financial modelling or reporting skills. Excellent written communication and report‑writing ability. Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail. Driven, proactive and able to take full ownership of deliverables. Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills. Comfortable working remotely and managing time effectively. Able to collaborate within a team while also working independently. Thrives under pressure and can meet tight deadlines.
