This role combines high‑end hospitality, deep ecological knowledge, off‑road 4x4 navigation, and conservation support while acting as an ambassador for lodge and lodge group. Guiding & Guest Experience Conduct morning and evening 4x4 game drives and interpretative bush walks. Share comprehensive, engaging information on fauna, flora, tracking, birdlife, and history. Host guests at meals and coordinate safari schedules according to 5‑star hospitality standards. Tailor safaris to specialist guest interests, including advanced wildlife photography. Safety & Compliance Uphold strict safety protocols regarding dangerous game encounters. Demonstrate proficient, safe weapon handling and rifle readiness at all times. Manage emergency incidents, including medical care, evacuations, or remote breakdowns. Operations & Maintenance Complete routine vehicle logs, daily checks, and maintain safari vehicles to pristine standards. Manage bush hospitality equipment (e.g., packing cooler boxes, morning hot boxes, and tracking consumables). Assist with reserve tasks such as road management, alien plant control, and reporting animal injuries. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent credential. FGASA Qualification : Minimum Nature Site Guide NQF2 (Apprentice Field Guide); NQF4 (Field Guide) or higher is highly preferred. Rifle Proficiency : Valid Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) and SAPS firearm business competency certificate. Driving Credentials : Valid South African code B or C1 driver's license alongside a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
