Facility Doctor – Subacute Rehabilitation Faircape Health Tokai Estate is a well-established Sub‑A‑cute Care and Rehabilitation Centre providing restorative care to patients recovering from neurological, orthopaedic, surgical, and medical conditions. Our focus is on medical stability and rehabilitation readiness, supporting patients as they transition from hospital to home within a structured and therapeutic care environment. We are seeking a Medical Officer to join our clinical team and manage medically stable patients requiring sub‑acute and rehabilitative care. The role involves working closely with an experienced Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, dietetics, and nursing teams. This role is well suited to a doctor who enjoys structured ward rounds, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuity of patient care. Working Hours Monday – Friday: 08h00 – 17h00 Approximately 2 weekend days per month Occasional telephonic advice to nursing staff if required. No routine call‑outs from home are expected. Key Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Conduct medical assessments on admission, including physical examinations and review of diagnostic information Develop and manage treatment plans aimed at improving rehabilitation outcomes Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans where necessary Collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dieticians, and nursing teams Provide guidance to patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations Maintain accurate clinical records on Healthware (electronic medical system) Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives Provide telephonic medical guidance to nursing staff where clinically necessary Liaise with referring specialists where appropriate Qualifications Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) Experience & Knowledge Proven post community service experience Experience in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, rehabilitation, or palliative care advantageous Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical team environment Skills & Attributes Strong clinical judgement and evidence‑based medical decision‑making Good critical thinking and diagnostic skills Ethical and professional clinical practice Strong teamwork and collaboration ability Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage clinical situations calmly and effectively Specific Requirements Active HPCSA registration Valid medical indemnity insurance (MPS or equivalent) Clear health, criminal and credit record Two contactable written references #J-18808-Ljbffr
