Responsibilities Assist and complete SHEQ required work for all Masana customer sites. Assist in organising safety culture initiatives i.e. Safety Day, Supplier Conference and Customer Training. Assist in the mitigation of SHEQ incidents within the organisation and with customers. Ensure control of work implementation and monitoring on active project sites are executed according to SHEQ standards. Document lessons learned and institutionalise the learning with Masana staff. Communicate learnings to contractors in order to eliminate repeat incidents and issues during projects. Assist in the management of Masana’s own SHEQ compliance including checking that all legal appointments are in place, all statutory meetings are held, compliance with environmental legislations as well as keeping the Masana safety file updated on a regular basis. Utilise Comply Works contractor management system to review contractors’ compliance status. Upload required documents for all projects are available and uploaded into the Document Management System particularly SHEQ documents and handover documentation. Assist mining site managers with SHEQ-related compliance. Assist with procurement of SHEQ related services. Assist with input for the compilation of the monthly SHEQ report. Report incidents on the incident management system. Log incidents and upload reports from third-party incidents on the incident management system. Assist in investigations resulting from the incident management system. Attend the office SHEQ meetings as well as first aid and fire-fighting programs of the company as part of the emergency response team makeup. Adhere to SHEQ standards while executing tasks associated with the role. Conduct site inspections at Customer sites as per performance contract as opposed to all customer sites. Conduct live work audits on active projects from a SHEQ perspective. Coordinate and assist in the conducting of mine audits. Ensure adherence to the Driving Safety Standards (DSS). Ensure that all relevant SHEQ training is conducted. Ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided, on request, within the approved budget. Maintain and update all SHEQ-related systems. Identify non-compliance to SHEQ standards and stop work, where deemed necessary. Assist the SHEQ Manager in the inculcation of a safety culture in Masana’s business operations by supporting: The management of SHEQ risks. Reporting. Auditing. SHEQ performance improvements. Coaching. Assist in the management of key service providers for SHEQ compliance through audits, management of compliance as well as vetting of submitted compliance documentation. Qualifications and Experience Essential: An undergraduate degree or national diploma in Safety Management or Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years’ engineering and safety experience with at least 2 years in a petrochemical environment. Knowledge and understanding of the Petroleum/Energy industry. Ability to influence at a senior level, both internally and externally. Passionate about achieving high levels of excellence. Sound business judgment. Recommended Training OHS Act Training.
