Job Description – IM Technician (E2 Band) Role Details Job Role: IM Technician Designation: Specialist / Senior Specialist / Technical Specialist Band: E2 Sub-Band: E2.1 / E2.2 / E2.3 Location: South Africa Domain: Windows Operating System Sub-Domain: MS Windows 2000 Administration Job Purpose The IM Technician will be part of the Anglo American IM Support team, responsible for ensuring system integrity, maximum availability, and performance of all information systems in line with customer expectations. The role focuses on infrastructure support, maintenance, inspections, IoT devices, and overall operational excellence within the IM environment. The individual will follow a systematic, analytical approach to problem-solving while adhering to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Support and maintain network, server, and end-user infrastructure Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve cross-functional incidents Perform diagnostics using industry-standard testing methods Automate management tasks and streamline processes Ensure timely ticket resolution with accurate updates Provide technical guidance and explain solutions to non-technical users Adhere to SOPs, documentation, and quality standards Maintain professionalism with internal teams, customers, and vendors Identify risks in the IM environment and implement mitigation measures Ensure compliance with safety (H&S) standards Work flexibly, including extended hours when required Staff Management & Leadership Support team performance through feedback and reporting Assist in defining KPIs and conducting performance reviews Contribute to training and skill development plans Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement Financial Responsibilities Validate financial inputs such as overtime, standby, PPE, and claims before submission Internal Processes Ensure SLA compliance Follow internal policies and customer guidelines Skills & Technical Requirements Core Skills Strong knowledge of server, network, and wireless technologies Experience with EUC devices, printers, and security systems Exposure to Rajant Network, OT devices, and mining environment Understanding of IoT infrastructure and systems Technical Skills Windows OS Administration Networking & Wireless Technologies Citrix & Virtualization Infrastructure Support Certifications (Preferred / Required) MCSE / MCSA CCNA / CCNA Wireless VMWare A+, N+ Cisco Certifications Dell / HP Hardware Certifications Optical Fibre Knowledge OTDR Testing (Advantage) RCNA (Recommended) Experience Minimum 5+ years of IT experience Experience in infrastructure, network, and end-user support Exposure to OT (Operational Technology) environments preferred Educational Qualification Grade 12 (Mandatory) IT-related Degree/Diploma (Preferred) Behavioral Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and stakeholder management Ability to work independently and in teams High attention to detail and organizational skills Adaptability to fast-paced environments Strong leadership and decision-making capability Key Stakeholders Interaction Internal Regional SDM, BU SDMs IM Site Supervisor & Team Members Business Unit stakeholders Other HCL service lines External Customers Vendors / Service Providers Additional Expectations Maintain professional conduct and workplace discipline Follow safety and compliance guidelines strictly Demonstrate a proactive and learning-oriented mindset #J-18808-Ljbffr
