Wireless Field Telecoms Technician (Somerset West or Swellendam) Excellent opportunity to join this well-established Telecommunications Company. Candidate must live in Somerset West ideally. Our client also has a role where the candidate must be based in Swellendam. Duties & Responsibilities Field technicians provide field assistance in network maintenance, network build and CPE installations and faults. Installation of brackets, microwave antennas and routers. Fully capable of configuring routers, radios, VOIP phones (Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, etc.). Cable Management. Fault finding/troubleshooting. Installation and configuration of PTP and PTMP links. High site construction. Working at heights certified. Medically clear. No health issues. Skilled to work with power tools. Advanced understanding of DC electrical circuits/solar systems (24V and 48V battery systems). Advanced understanding of AC power circuits. Admin duties. Completing of job-cards. Keeping logbooks up to date. Following company policies. Maintenance of company assets (vehicles, tools, cell phones and laptops). Ability to apply proper time management. Minor project management. Team player and skilled to manage a small team. Store management. Drivers license compulsory. Desired Experience & Qualification MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Live in Somerset West (or Swellendam) Matric Valid drivers licence Diploma Electrical circuits AC/DC/Solar Working at heights certified RF/Microwave experience Structured cabling experience Fiber optic reticulation experience A minimum of 2 years in the WISP industry Microsoft office High sites Construction and Maintenance experience Working on masts Extensive travel and remote work. Understanding of microwave systems Must be capable in setup of routers and AP’s (Wi-Fi-LAN) Must be capable in setup of wireless links. Must be capable in setup of VOIP phones.
