This is a hands‑on, senior role suited to a technically strong Toolmaker with proven CNC machining and mould‑making expertise, as well as the ability to lead and mentor othersThis role includes technical leadership, hands‑on manufacturing, and supervision of a toolmaking teamKey Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines (3‑/4‑axis) and CNC lathes safely and efficiently Independently execute CNC machining projects from programs and technical drawings Perform CNC programming, editing, and troubleshooting as required Manufacture high‑precision plastic moulds, including:Injection moulds Blow moulds ISBM / PET moulds Participate in new mould builds, breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and tooling improvements Lead, manage, and mentor a core team of Toolmakers, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety compliance Conduct routine machine inspections and preventative checks Apply strong metrology practices, ensuring accurate measurement and record keeping Identify recurring mould issues and implement corrective actions Maintain accurate records and uphold excellent housekeeping standards in the toolroom Minimum Requirements Grade 12 / Matric (Mathematics advantageous) Qualified Toolmaker (Red Seal) Tool, Jig and Die Making 510 years CNC machining experience, working independently from programs 35 years mould‑making experience (Blow, PET, IBM / ISBM moulds) Injection mould experience (advantageous) Experience in a plastics manufacturing environment (advantageous) Working knowledge of Siemens and Fanuc controls Exposure to Micro Dynamics and Leadwell CNC milling machines (preferred) Strong CAD and CNC programming skills Willingness to work overtime, standby, and call‑outs when required Competencies & Attributes Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven leadership and mentoring ability High level of independence and accountability Strong problem‑solving and analytical capability Excellent time management and attention to detail Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑performance team environment Whats on Offer Opportunity to work in a technically advanced FMCG plastics environment Senior‑level, hands‑on technical role with leadership responsibility Competitive remuneration aligned to experience and skills Long‑term career growth within an established manufacturing operation
