Job Vacancy – G1 Buyer About the Job Construa South Africa are seeking a dynamic and experienced G1 Buyer to manage procurement and inventory strategies across high velocity categories: Wet Trade, Cement, Roofing Materials, and Metals & Fencing. This role is critical to ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and compliance with company policies. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement pricing strategies for G1 categories. Negotiate cost effective supplier contracts. Collaborate with CATMAN & Marketing to promote brand visibility and drive sales growth. Oversee inventory replenishment using the K8 system, ensuring fill rates consistently exceed 80%. Ensure procurement practices comply with company policies and ethical standards. Maintain quality control across all G1 products. Strategic Planning & Analysis Conduct market trend analysis to anticipate demand fluctuations. Design inventory strategies to support rapid product turnover. Apply financial strategies to maximize profitability in fast moving environments. Interpret complex datasets to guide stock and procurement decisions. Leadership Lead teams with a collaborative approach to meet high stakes demands. Communicate G1 strategies effectively across departments. Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and ethical practices. Requirements Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing. Strong technical proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint. ERP expertise, preferably with the Kerridge system. Added advantages: Marketing experience, Supply Chain or Procurement degree. Key Skills Inventory strategy and supply chain management. Supplier negotiation and cost efficiency.
