We are looking for a dedicated Service Engineer to join our team in South Africa and support our customers in the Southern Africa region. Job Overview As a Service Engineer , you will be the first point of contact for customers and partners, providing service support for all the Solax products and solutions. Your role will involve troubleshooting, guiding installations, resolving issues, service ticket/RMA management, customer training and ensuring customer satisfaction. Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential for effective communication with our diverse customer base. Key Responsibilities Customer Support: Provide technical assistance via phone, email, and online tools to customers, installers, and partners. Onsite/remote troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to all the Solax products and solutions. Assist in diagnosing product malfunctions and guide customers through resolutions. Onsite/remote support customers with installation and commissioning of all the Solax products and solutions. Coordinate post-delivery activities (commissioning, acceptance, handover). Collaborate with internal engineering teams to address complex technical issues. Document and elevate recurring problems to product management and R&D teams for resolution. Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver technical training sessions to customers and partners. Create and update Service Support documents/videos, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides. Product quality tracking: Monitor the field performance of all the sold products, collect, analyze and report product failure rate and top failures. Push R&D team to keep improving product quality and customer experience. Support new product beta test in the field. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and submit repair reports with improvement recommendations. Identify trends in support cases and recommend process or product improvements. Stay up-to-date with new products, technologies, and industry developments. Requirements Essential Qualifications Fluent in English and Afrikaans (both written and spoken). Strong technical background in solar inverters, battery storage systems, or related fields. Proven experience in a Service Support role, preferably in the renewable energy sector. Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Familiarity with monitoring platforms, communication protocols, and software tools. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of electrical systems, PV installations, or grid requirements in South Africa. Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline. Experience working with EPCs, installers, or utilities in South Africa.
