Duties: Provide technical pre-sales support for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) solutions Engage with clients to understand energy needs and propose tailored storage solutions Design and develop conceptual and detailed BESS system configurations Conduct feasibility studies, energy modelling, and financial analysis (ROI, LCOE, and payback) Support the sales team with technical presentations, proposals, and tender submissions Liaise with OEMs, EPC contractors, and internal engineering teams Ensure compliance with grid codes, standards, and regulatory requirements Assist with cost estimation, system sizing, and equipment selection Stay up to date with market trends, technologies, and competitor offerings Provide technical input during project handover to execution teams Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 37 years experience in renewable energy, with strong exposure to BESS or solar PV & storage Solid understanding of power systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies Experience with energy modelling tools (e.g., Homer, PVSyst, or similar) Knowledge of grid integration and utility-scale energy systems Strong client-facing and communication skills Advantageous: Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Experience in C&I and utility-scale projects Familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and SCADA Exposure to hybrid systems (solar, wind, diesel, and storage integration) Key Competencies: Strong commercial and technical acumen Solution-oriented mindset Excellent presentation and proposal-writing skills Ability to work cross-functionally with sales and engineering teams High attention to detail and analytical thinking Whats on Offer: Opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy storage projects Fast-growing renewable energy environment Competitive salary and performance incentives Career growth within a dynamic and innovative sector
