We are seeking a senior, business-facing Business Intelligence leader who combines deep technical expertise with hands‑on delivery and light‑touch team leadership. This role is accountable for facilitating world‑class BI delivery for the business, ensuring insights are timely, trusted, and directly support investment decision‑making, risk management, and portfolio oversight. The role remains strongly hands‑on: the successful candidate is expected to personally design and deliver complex BI solutions while also coordinating and uplifting a small team of BI Analysts. Leadership in this context is about setting direction, removing obstacles, enforcing standards, and enabling consistent, high‑quality outcomes rather than pure people management. The Senior BI Developer will act as a primary BI partner to the business, shaping the BI roadmap, translating strategic questions into analytical solutions, and continuously improving how data is used across the organization. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who learns quickly, respects proven conventions, and elevates the team’s expertise through coaching and thoughtful refactoring. What you’ll do: BI Leadership, Coordination & Enablement Act as the senior technical authority for BI, setting best practices, standards, and design principles across the BI estate. Coordinate and guide a small team of BI Analysts, balancing hands‑on delivery with review, mentoring, and technical direction. Remain an active contributor, owning and delivering complex, high‑impact dashboards, reports, and data models. Review and assure BI outputs to ensure they meet agreed standards for accuracy, performance, usability, and consistency. Facilitate effective ways of working across the BI team, including prioritization, estimation, and delivery cadence. Support skills development and knowledge sharing to uplift overall team capability. BI Delivery & Stakeholder Partnership Own the end‑to‑end delivery of BI solutions, from requirement definition through to deployment and ongoing enhancement. Partner closely with investment, risk, finance, and operations stakeholders to priorities BI initiatives and manage demand. Translate complex business requirements into scalable, well‑designed BI solutions. Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, using data and insights to influence decision‑making. Data & Reporting Solutions Oversee the design, build, and maintenance of dashboards and reports covering portfolio performance, cash flows, risk, and credit metrics. Drive standardization and reusability of reports, data models, and metrics across the organization. Ensure high levels of data accuracy, consistency, and transparency in all BI outputs. Champion automation of recurring reporting to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk. Data Architecture & Continuous Improvement Work closely with IT and data engineering teams to shape data models, pipelines, and BI architecture. Define and enforce BI best practices, including data modelling standards, naming conventions, and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve BI tooling, processes, and performance. Stay abreast of developments in BI tools, analytics techniques, and data visualisation best practices, and apply them pragmatically. Your Expertise: 10+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data roles, ideally within asset management, private markets, or financial services. BI Tools: Expert‑level experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, including enterprise‑scale deployments. Data Platform: Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms (preferably Azure: Synapse, Fabric, Data Factory). Familiarity with managing BI datasets and refresh strategies in enterprise environments. SQL: Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, optimisation, and data validation. Data Modelling: Strong experience designing analytical data models (e.g. star and snowflake schemas). ETL & Data Pipelines: Strong experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, including incremental data loads and data transformation strategies. Experience with modern data tooling (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS, dbt, or equivalent). Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including fact/dimension modelling, slowly changing dimensions, and historical tracking. Application & Data Integration: Experience integrating BI solutions with application backends (e.g., .NET APIs) and frontends (e.g., SPA frameworks such as Vue or React). Familiarity with embedded analytics approaches (e.g., Power BI Embedded or custom dashboarding solutions). Strong understanding of data access patterns, pagination, filtering, and performance considerations in application‑driven reporting. Excel: Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query; VBA experience beneficial. Experience optimizing BI and SQL workloads for large datasets (millions+ rows). Governance: Experience implementing data quality controls and reporting standards. Demonstrated experience delivering end‑to‑end BI solutions, from data modelling through to visualisation and stakeholder adoption. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Nice to Have: Strong understanding of asset management and investment concepts, ideally including: Fixed income, private credit, and alternative investments Portfolio construction, monitoring, and performance measurement Credit risk and exposure analysis Familiarity with the investment lifecycle and associated data sources. #J-18808-Ljbffr
