Position Title Engineer, Electrical Location Namakwa Sands Northern Operations (Mine Site) Position Overview The Electrical Engineer will oversee strategic electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role involves conducting design reviews with specialist teams to validate system integrity, leading project execution, and maintaining high standards through rigorous quality audits. The engineer will take charge of project coordination, manage technical resources, and drive innovation while upholding industry best practices and safety regulations. Primary Responsibilities Plant Maintenance Provide leadership in line with Tronox values Assist to deliver best practice maintenance at BSB. Assist to develop and maintains Maintenance business plan Assist to ensure maintenance KPI’s are measured, reviewed, and improved to agree targets Assist to develop and implement maintenance budget and report cost performance relative to budget and forecast Assist with accurate CAPEC and OPEX forecasting Manage the implementation of smaller projects Facilitates OE activities and improvements in line with reliability strategy Champion’s idea generation within team Assist to ensure plant modifications are adequately risk assessed through management of change Assist to ensure maintenance work management procedures are in line with safety values Ensure management and integrity of the computerized maintenance management system (CMM) Projects, CI & Plant Optimization Drive improvement projects towards enhancing business operations Optimises processes, investigates, and conducts feasibility studies Project Management Manage projects with regards to processes, technology, and equipment Evaluate and complete projects with minimum risk, within allocated timeframe and according to specified budgetary requirements. Provides input and focus on projects and project team. Provides regular updates to stakeholders. Effective Staff Supervisors Creates structures for project execution, monitor and track progress. Complete individual implementation timeously. Communicate project activities to optimize the application of resources and staff. Manage team performance of operational initiatives and stakeholders with regards to project initiatives. Manage and coordinate ad hoc and / or ongoing BI initiatives. Review and update of standards & procedures An optimized team structure is manned by staff that are motivated, empowered and led by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices. Promotes teamwork, provides support and manages performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans of subordinates. Oversees all recruitment and HR related activities of reporting staff. Performs fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Manager (direct superior). Compliance Ensure and maintain a healthy environment, safe operation, and practices. Complies with SHEC and technical requirements, in line with Plant Availability targets. Implements SHEC programs and ensure adherence to all relevant statutory requirements with regard to MHSA and other applicable laws and charters. (EE, BEEE, ESD, Social and Labour plan) Monitors, identifies, and responds to defects and / or sub-standard equipment performance and other improvement opportunities. Customer and Client Relationship Management Support core business by ensuring appropriate stakeholder relationships towards enhancing the corporate profile. Manages internal and external relations, including the interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure that the business needs are met, and employees are satisfied. Represents Tronox Namakwa Sand at applicable forums. Provides relevant and specialized support to applicable stakeholders Qualifications & Experience B Eng, BSc (Eng) degree, B Tech. (Electrical Engineering) Computer literate – MS Office and MS Projects. ECSA Professional Registration (Advantage) Minimum 5 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering design and construction Minimum 3 years’ experience in Project Management and Supervision Knowledge & Skills Fluent in English. Code B driver’s license. Experience in a mining or similar environment in the following: Running of small to medium projects. Conducting project feasibility studies. Construction management.
