Responsibilities The incumbent will be expected to assist with technical and administrative aspects of the Department of Anatomy, as well as support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching by assisting with practical sessions as well as lectures where necessary. The Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To Managing and maintaining assigned laboratories and dissection halls; Coordinating and supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching; Providing research support to staff and students; Performing administrative and coordination duties; Handling financial administration, including obtaining quotes, placing orders on the financial system, and communicating with suppliers; Maintaining specialised department resources, such as the osteology bank, digital imaging repository, or skeletal collections and Assisting with specialised departmental tasks, which may include forensic case work analysis or marketing departmental workshops and short courses. Minimum Requirements A Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience, including experience in the handling of human tissue and skeletal remains. OR A relevant Diploma in Human Anatomy with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience, including experience in the handling of human tissue and skeletal remains; Experience in the maintenance of laboratories; Experience in teaching or tutoring students and providing research support; Experience in administrative management and processing student-related data. Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes) Knowledge: Proficiency in laboratory safety procedures and research methodologies; Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Anatomy and Human Osteology; Familiarity with University regulations regarding tests and examinations; Technical Skills: Computer literacy (MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet usage; Effective presentation and communication skills for conveying information clearly to groups; Skill in the operation of laboratory instruments and equipment; Ability to perform forensic anthropological analyses (where applicable); Behavioural Attributes: Strong collaborative and teamwork skills to achieve departmental goals; High level of accuracy and the ability to check work thoroughly; Ability to coordinate, plan, and facilitate tasks effectively.
