Duties: Own end-to-end buying for the Distribution Centre, including fresh produce, bulk ingredients (oils, grains, dry goods), and non-food items (cleaning materials, consumables, etc.)Develop and manage accurate forecasting models to ensure consistent supply across all production linesMaintain optimal stock levels ensuring availability without overstocking or waste, particularly within fresh categoriesContinuously monitor and manage cost prices, identifying discrepancies and acting immediatelyLead supplier negotiations to secure the best quality and pricing, while maintaining strong, reliable relationshipsIdentify and resolve stock, pricing, and supply discrepancies proactivelyWork closely with operations and stores, managing constant communication and demand changes Requirements: Proven experience in a senior buying/procurement role, ideally within food, FMCG, or a production-driven environmentStrong experience in forecasting, particularly across both fresh/perishable and bulk categoriesDeep understanding of stock management principles in a high-volume environmentConfident negotiator with the ability to push back and hold suppliers accountableHigh attention to detail with a track record of managing cost accuracy and margin controlStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage internal pressure from multiple stakeholdersResilient, decisive, and able to operate effectively in a high-noise, fast-moving environmentCommercially sharp with a constant focus on cost and marginHands-on and proactiveAble to challenge suppliers and internal teams when neededHighly organised with the ability to prioritise under pressureDetail-driven with a low tolerance for errors in pricing, stock, or supply
