Wastewater Design Engineer – Cape Town (Ref CT0122) JG Afrika is looking to appoint a Wastewater Design Engineer to join our Cape Town office. Duties and Responsibilities: Design of wastewater and related civil engineering infrastructure Preparation of contract documentation Contract administration and site involvement Support with Green Drop and Blue Drop compliance Must be willing to travel on short notice and work on site as required Qualifications: BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering Registered or close to registering with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist Valid driver’s licence Experience: 3–10 years’ post-graduation experience in wastewater infrastructure design and contract administration Solid understanding of wastewater treatment processes Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel, Word and MS Project) Skills: Proficient in wastewater treatment process design and analysis Strong technical capability in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel and MS Project) Competent in hydraulic modelling and interpretation of design data Ability to prepare high quality technical reports, drawings, and contract documentation Strong project coordination and time management skills Ability to troubleshoot design challenges and propose practical engineering solutions High level of numeracy and analytical thinking Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail oriented with a commitment to engineering excellence and compliance Demonstrates sound engineering judgment and problem solving capability Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams Professional, reliable, and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision Adaptable and able to work under pressure, including meeting tight deadlines and travelling at short notice Committed to maintaining health, safety, environmental, and quality standards Client focused with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships Notes: Please provide contactable references.
