Location: Cape Town Salary: Based on experience DETAILS Our client, an innovative, environmentally aware production company, is seeking a qualified food scientist or food technologist to join their team. They are embarking on the development of nutritionally sound agricultural feed / pet food from alternative bio-protein sources. The company is currently producing, supplying and exporting sustainable animal nutrition solutions to existing customers in SA and the international market. This role involves industry-based knowledge and ideally NPD working experience in the food industry combined with applicable flavour and aroma development experience. The role is responsible for food/feed testing, creating and managing the NPD processes, using the existing bio-protein ingredients developed, while sourcing additional new ingredients and flavours to create and optimise the production of the desired end product, to ensure gains in production output. The role will be tailored to the experience of the individual, where general responsibilities will likely include collaborating with the existing team, ideally taking a lead in identifying potential new ingredients and products, selecting raw materials from suppliers, independently planning and running new product trials. The role requires working independently, project planning & managing working time effectively using previously gained industry knowledge & experience.
